Early Christmas morning I was awakened by the sound of . . .no not Santa. . .the sound of puking. . .poor Avonleah caught the dreaded Christmas flu as we named it since it traveled through the whole family for a week. So needless to say from about 4 am on she was puking every half hour or so . . .but in true Avonleah fashion she was amazingly chipper and would just get all excited and open a present then run to the bathroom and throw up and start the cycle all over. . .poor little thing. The excitement of kids on Christmas morning reminds me of those early mornings when there was just Shae and I and Mom and we'd get up super early and lay on those multi-color couches and check out everything in our stockings and patiently wait for Mom to get up so we could open our Santa gift. We used to have so much fun just imagining what was in our gift, shaking it, seeing if we could lift up the tape just enough to catch a glimpse. . .and quietly singing Christmas carols together, it was amazing because we truly "believed" in the magic of Christmas.
