In the past few years President Monson has encouraged us to acquaint our children with the temple by taking them to the grounds and letting them touch the temple. In one address he told of one primary's efforts saying, "During one year, the Primary organization conducted an effort to have the children become better acquainted with the holy temples of God. This frequently entailed a visit to the temple grounds. The laughter of small children, the joy of unfettered youth, and the exuberance of energy displayed by them gladdened the heart of this observer. As a loving teacher guided a boy or girl to the large door of the Salt Lake Temple and the little one reached out and up to touch the temple, I could almost see the Master welcoming the little children to His side and could almost hear His comforting words: “Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.”(Ensign March 2004) On Saturday we took a family excursion to the temple and while Scott went inside the girls and I toured the grounds, talked about temples and spent some time touching the temple! It was so amazing to watch my normally exuberant and loud Avonleah find a quiet reverence while on the temple grounds. I have no doubt that God loves us and watches over us, daily providing us with peace and planting hope in our souls.

So this statue with the mom dancing with her three kids- that is called "Joyful Moment" and Jake proposed to me in front of the one at our temple! I love the temple! You're such a good Mommy- trying to do what the prophet asked and teaching your girls about the temple. And hey- the perks that came with are just the blessing of being righteous :) right!
