Betts' Academy!

It's been a busy couple months here at Betts' Academy but  we are having a great time learning and adjusting to our new style of school.  Here's a few of our projects we've been working on to enrich our core studies.  In Art class we've learned about form, line and the color wheel and we had a fun day to work on pointillism!  In History we've been studying ancient Egypt and along with all our learning we took a day to make our own pyramids complete with secret tunnels and booby traps and we made some cuneiforms with our names written in hieroglyphics out of clay (oops they cracked!).  In science we are studying invertebrates and got to check out live worms (ewww) and we have some caterpillars that we've been watching as they go through their life cycle to become beautiful butterflies (also a nice accessory to my kitchen ugg).  The girls are loving going skating on the weekends and even little Adelaide is getting pretty good at it.  The girls are dutifully doing their studies and are even happy to come to school each morning (probably because I'm such a super teacher *facepalm*) and having fun being best friends *snicker* .  But on a more serious note, this has been a much greater blessing than I ever imagined it would be for our family, I am seeing small sparks of why the Lord led us to this endeavor, and that makes all the hard moments well worth it.
